[ET Net News Agency, 28 October 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$76.87 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.14 billion, or 10.59% of the
market's turnover. There were 641 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and XIAOMI-W
(01810) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$599.89 million and HK$548.98
million, or 7.37% and 6.74% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 19.98% and 21.85% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$399.9 million and HK$367.84
million of short sales, accounting for 4.91% and 4.52% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.22% and 17.42% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$1.8, or 1.89%, to HK$97.15. XIAOMI-W ended down HK$0.45, or 1.73%,
to HK$25.5. MEITUAN-W rose HK$0.5, or 0.27% to HK$185.4. TRACKER FUND declined by HK$0.06,
or 0.28%, to HK$21.28.
