billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$41.53 billion, or 14.29% of the market's
turnover. There were 711 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.07 billion and HK$2.96
billion, or 7.39% and 7.12% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 26.08% and 50.95% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) registered HK$2.56 billion and HK$2.31 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.17% and 5.57% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 15.98% and 15.7% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed up HK$25, or 6.93%, to HK$385.8. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.15, or
2.67%, to HK$5.765. TENCENT rose HK$14, or 2.76% to HK$521.5. BABA-W jumped HK$4.3, or
3.27%, to HK$135.8.
