[ET Net News Agency, 1 November 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$86.77 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$8.73 billion, or 10.06% of the
market's turnover. There were 630 short-selling stocks. XIAOMI-W (01810) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$860.43 million and HK$638.64
million, or 9.86% and 7.32% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 26.2% and 17.58% of respective stock's turnover.
CCB (00939) and XL2CSOPHSTECH (07226) registered HK$474.13 million and HK$384.3 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.43% and 4.4% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.7% and 51.07% of respective stock's
turnover.
XIAOMI-W closed up HK$0.6, or 2.25%, to HK$27.3. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$1.16, or 1.56%,
to HK$75.36. CCB rose HK$0.14, or 2.32% to HK$6.17. XL2CSOPHSTECH jumped HK$0.044, or 1%,
to HK$4.464.
