[ET Net News Agency, 14 July 2026] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$161.97 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$26.4 billion, or 16.3% of the market's turnover. There were 844 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and XL2CSOPHYNIX (07709) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.43 billion and HK$2.28 billion, or 9.2% and 8.64% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 29.17% and 16.19% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$1.48 billion and HK$1.28 billion of short sales, accounting for 5.59% and 4.87% of the total short sales values respectively. The transactions represented 23.78% and 19.19% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.12, or 0.49%, to HK$24.56. XL2CSOPHYNIX ended down HK$5.4, or 9.02%, to HK$54.5. BABA-W fell HK$2, or 1.81% to HK$108.7. SMIC declined by HK$2.85, or 3.64%, to HK$75.5.
